BAPRA Bright Awards is the first PR contest in Bulgaria where the evaluation will be conducted by foreign jury members only. The jury members are recognized communication experts with many years’ experience in the field.


Richard Houghton

Richard is a specialist management consultant focusing on helping PR agencies to grow.
He spent the first 25 years of his career working in public relations consultancies in the UK and Europe, holding senior management and CEO positions in Fleishman-Hillard, Shandwick, and Ketchum. He also ran his own specialist agency, Carrot Communications, for a decade.
During his agency career he has dealt with a very wide range of management challenges including merging three agencies to create a new firm; divisional and agency turn rounds, and the launch of an agency from scratch. Richard also directed award winning international campaigns for Dell, Siemens and
A columnist for PR Week, Richard writes on the business of public relations in the monthly Agency Doctor column. A past President of the International Communications Consultants Organisation, he is also a former Chairman of the PRCA and a founding Fellow of the association.


Andrew Johnson

Currently, Andrew is working for Rohde Public Policy, Brussel's leading healthcare and public affairs agency. Previously he served the Havas Public Affairs office in Brussels as a Managing Director and Partner. He is an expert with over 22 years of experience in EU law and public affairs. Andrew is a qualified barrister. With expertise in all aspects of Internal Market policy, health, environmental, consumer protection, industry, competition and trade policy, he has managed many major and pan-European campaigns. He chaired the AMCHAM EU Better Regulation Taskforce from 2001-2003, he served as a Council Member of the British Chamber of Commerce 2003-2007 and in 2007 he was elected Vice President of the Public Affairs Committee of COBCOE (the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe) a position he still holds. Andrew has served on the Management Committee of EPACA (the European Association of Public Affairs Consultancies) since 2007 and he was responsible for redrafting the Code of Conduct and procedural guidelines. He is also responsible for ethical and professional training within the Association. He is a visiting lecturer on EU lobbying theory and practice at the Université Dauphine, Paris. He regularly writes and speaks on public affairs.

Anita Balaton

CEO of the Café PR agency, established in March 2001. A member of the Hungarian Public Relations Association since 1991, she has given regular lectures at universities and presentations at conferences. Anita has studied PR at the College of Foreign Trade in Szeged, where earned a degree as an economist specializing in public relations. She has a wealth of valuable experience in brand-building, internal communication, CSR and crisis communication.
In 1997 she founded the Moana PR Studion - one of the largest agencies outside Budapest, which provided communication support mostly public service providers. From 1998 to 2002 Anita managed communications for the Hungarian Canoe federation, also was part of the reassessment and reconstruction of PR in this sport. She also worked as head of Communications for the 2001 Canoe Sprint European Championships.

Anna Krajewska

NBS co-founder in 1990 and president since 2004. Anna Krajewska laid the cornerstone for the development of PR industry in Poland. She has 25 years’ experience in managing corporate PR, financial PR and investor relations crisis management projects. She is a lecturer of investor relations on post-graduate studies at the University of Warsaw. In 2013 she was a member of the Committee of Ethics in PR in Poland.In recent years, Anna Krajewska advised on numerous IPOs, including the Polish insurer PZU, Polish banks such as Pekao SA, BZWBK, BRE Bank and Warsaw Stock Exchange. She also worked on many mergers and acquisitions (M&A) deals involving companies such as Orange, AXA, ADM, Électricité de France and BNP Paribas. She advises clients on crisis management and conducts crisis communications workshops. She studied ethnology at Jagellonian University and Université de Paris X.

Bart de Vries

Mr. de Vries is a the 2016 President of International PR Association (IPRA). A professional with over 25 years’ experience in public relations as Managing Director of PR/PA agency HvdM - one of the two oldest PR agencies in the Netherlands. He is experienced in corporate reputation, PR marketing and crisis communication. Mr. de Vries runs workshops on communication creativity, media transparency, crisis preparedness and crisis communications. He has devised Corporate Social Responsibility programs and supervised their implementation. He has been a Board member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) since 2009, was an IPRA Director in 2015. Bart is also a member of the European Association of Communication Directors (EACD).

Elena Fadeeva

She heads FleishmanHillard Vanguard in Russia and is expanding its activities in the CIS. She is a senior consultant to the firm’s clients on reputation management, public affairs and international communications.

Elena founded Vanguard PR in Moscow in 1993. She holds leading positions in several NGOs in Russia, including honorary chairwoman of the board of the Russian Association of Communications Consultancies, head of Communications Group of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, head of Professional Services Industrial Committee, Association of Managers of Russia. Elena was named one of Russia’s leading executives by Association of Managers of Russia and Kommersant Daily in 2012 and 2013, and received the Media Manager of the Year 2013 Award for Contribution to the Development of the Industry. Elena is an Associate Professor at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, leads special program at the Philosophy Department of the Moscow State University and in Saint Petersburg State University.

Zehra Güngör, Phd

She has been appointed as a President of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) for 2014. She is a board member and a vice president of KAGIDER (Turkish Women`s Entrepreneurs Association), member of TUHID (Turkish Public Relations Association) and a former member of Propeller Club.
Dr. Güngör worked as an economics journalist for 20 years before founding a PR consultancy, STAGE Communications Consultancy in 1999. Dr. Güngör has been a member of IPRA for 15 years and has served on both the Council and Board for some 12 years. Zehra Güngör is a holder of an MA and PhD in communications together with a BA in English Literature. She also a lecturer in Communications at two private universities in Turkey.

Crenguta Rosu

Founding member of the Romanian Association of PR and the Romanian Public Relations Companies’ Club (PRCC). Mrs. Rosu is a Board member of the Centre for Independent Journalism. She is a PR professional with more than 20 years of experience in the field. She is a co-founder of the agency DC Communication and author of over 500 articles as a journalist and as a communication expert.

Christophe Ginisty

Christophe Ginisty is an international public relations guru and a specialist of social media, reputation management and crisis communications in the digital age. He is currently Senior Director and Head of Digital at FTI Consulting in Brussels.
Mr. Ginisty is the creator and the organizer of the ReputationTime International cycleof conferences. Its first edition was held in Paris on January 11, 2013. He previously worked at Edelman — the largest PR firm in the world — at the leadership position of European Digital Evangelist and Deputy Managing Director for Europe Middle East and Africa (2011-2012). He was the President of the International Public Relations Association for 2013 and in 2008, he founded Internet sans frontières (Internet without borders) an NGO devoted to promote the freedom of speech online. It was renamed to WebDiversity in 2011.

Ksenija Renko

Founder and Managing Director of Jupiter Strategic Communications. Mrs. Renko is a Senior Communication Expert on EU projects in Adriatic Region specialized in anti-corruption issues. She is also Founder, former President and Vice President at Croatian Professional Association of Public Relations. Mrs. Renko is an editor of the first Croatian Public Relations Manual.

Loula Zaklama

President and Managing Director of Rada Research & Public Relations Co and past world President IPRA (2006). Mrs. Zaklama is a public relations and marketing expert with 50 years of experience in communication sector. Her special expertise lies in designing marketing and communication strategies, for Multinational and Egyptian companies in Egypt. She was selected as one of the 50 Arab leading businesswomen in the Middle East 2006, by Forbes Middle East and as one of the 50 Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World by the Star Group, sponsored by IBM and Fortune Magazine, in May, 1998. Mrs. Zaklama received the Atlas Award International Lifetime Achievement from the Public Relations Society of America in October 2007. In 2013, she was awarded the International Advertising Association (IAA) recognition for her contribution to the communication industry for over 50 years.

Paul Haugen

Partner and Director of Planning for EMEA FleishmanHillard. In this role, he is responsible for research, analytics and insight development for pan-regional and significant local clients. He also leads the firm’s Strategic Integration efforts bringing clients idea-centric ideas that are realised in paid, earned, social and owned media. Paul Haugen is one of the most experienced strategic planners and facilitators in the public relations industry. He has 30 Years International Public Relations Consultancy Experience in the U.S. and EMEA working for Golin/Harris, Hill and Knowlton, Edelman and The Engine Group. He has worked cross-discipline including consumer, corporate, B2B, technology, and health. He has led planning for multi-year, global programmes for McDonald’s, Shell, Unilever and Coca-Cola. He has twice been awarded UK PR Week Magazine’s Best International Campaign of the Year.

Dr. Sarah Rötzer

Dr. Sarah Rötzer is Head of Corporate Media Relations at Vodafone in Germany. Before that, she has been a strategic communications consultant at CNC – Communications & Network Consultant in Munich and Frankfurt for more than eight years. While being a true generalist covering all sorts of communication disciplines her special areas of expertise are crisis and change situations. She studied Communication Sciences, Economics and Marketing at the University of Hohenheim, Germany. In her doctoral thesis she investigated the professionalization of corporate communications in family businesses.

Francis Ingham

He is a Chief Executive of the International Communication Consultancy Organization (ICCO) - the voice of public relations consultancies around the world. The ICCO membership comprises national trade assocoations in 32 countries across the globe in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas and Australia. Colectively, these associations represent some 2,500 PR firms. Francis is a General Director of the UK Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA).


Jurgen Gangoly

Managing Director of the Austrian PR agency The Skills Group, an affiliate of FleishmanHillard International Communications. His agency celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2014 and is since its founding in 1984 amongst the leading communications consultancies in Austria. Juergen Gangoly is specialized in issue management, crisis communications and high-end strategy consulting. In the recent years, together with his agency team, he became internationally one of the most-awarded European PR experts and won since 2010: 5-times a SABRE Gold Award (EMEA), 4-times the 1st prize of the Austrian Best Practice Award, twice the   PR Prize (2013, 2014), two German PR Report Awards and received 2013 ­ for the third time ­ the renown Austrian State PR Award. Mr. Gangoly is a Board member of the Austrian Public Relations Association (PRVA) responsible for International Affairs and Quality Standards, and represents Austria in the board of the International Communications Consultancy Organization (ICCO). He is an author and co-author of several publications on online communications and E-Commerce and regularly active as a lecturer on social media and mass communications.

Jan Boman

Experienced PR and PA professional based in Copenhagen, covering the Nordic and the Arctic. He is Managing Director of Boman Communications/PRN Denmark and earlier served as Vice President of the Danish Association of PR Agencies, on the Board of Management of ICCO and as a judge on European PR Awards. He is a graduate from Copenhagen Business School – not in communications or anything remotely close to it, but in the sinister field of Logistics and Management. He worked his way into communications, public relations and public affairs, always trying to stick to the principle ‘Less is more – except when complicated looks really cool…’
