Promoting fuel quality – Shell Car workshop of the year awards

Fuel quality is a serious issue in Bulgaria and the industry regularly faces accusations for the products offered. In order to demonstrate Shell fuels’ high quality and the company’s investments in car care and innovations, we used the fifth addition of the annual Car workshop of the year awards to reach one of the most crucial audiences - automotive experts and mechanics. Through the organization of fuel innovations’ seminars for the contest’s finalists we presented the company’s control system and the positive effect Shell products have on car engines. A specially equipped mobile laboratory used for testing fuels’ quality as part of Shell “Seal of quality” project was presented for the first time, promoting the fact that the Shell’s standards for quality control are uncompromising and its fuels are under constant surveillance.
The 2015 awards attracted a record-high number of participants from all over the country. Top Gear magazine was the official media partner, while in order to present the whole range of Shell products, Orbico - the distributor of Shell lubricants was attracted as a co-organizer. Aiming at higher participation, new categories were added. People voted for their favorite car workshop through the platform www.carworkshopoftheyear.com, while a jury formed by famous Bulgarian rally pilots and automotive experts visited all finalists’ premises and selected the winners. They were announced during a special awarding ceremony, attended by more than 200 guests.
