Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC) is one of the most prestigious contests for young talents in the world. The event is organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and in 2015 Bulgaria hosted the event for the first time. The 13th edition of the song contest in Sofia is the largest television project ever implemented in the country. A key objective of JESC is to support and inspire young people in Europe. Our country got this opportunity after the outstanding performance of Chrisia, Hassan and Ibrahim in Malta in 2014, when they won the second place in the contest. The challenge for the BNT as host was to create an impressive TV show at global level, while making it a national cause and the most important event for the Bulgarian television industry. The public media used the platform of the event to present Bulgaria to the world as a country of rich history, ancient traditions, beautiful nature and many talented children. JESC managed to bring together television professionals from Bulgaria and Europe, ministries, municipalities, NGOs, independent production companies, business organisations and prominent Bulgarian artists. The 13th edition of the international contest has left its mark as the event with the largest number of participants since 2007–17 countries, thus creating the strongest competition. Ireland was attracted to enter as participant in the event and for the first time JESC went beyond the borders of Europe by presenting a participant from Australia.
